American Cancer Society Relay for Life

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

I have not been posting much on the blog lately and hope to share more information soon. In the meantime, I am sharing that I am participating in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in Palm Harbor, Florida on April 13th. We are raising funds for the American Cancer Society as well as taking [...]

Cell Phone Dangers & EMFs

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

I have been doing A LOT of research into cell phones and EMFs emitted off of them (amongst other items we are exposed to). Radio waves coming from these devices trigger responses that lead to
effects ranging from anxiety disorders, learning problems and electrosensitivity to immunological deficiencies and cancer. I have looked into a few different things and found out about a couple of products which are available to disburse EMFs away from ours or our childrens’ heads. Although children really shouldn’t use cell phones unless for emergencies anyway! Their skulls are not quite solid to protect them from these external effects.

Do you know how to properly clean produce?

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Many people already know that produce (especially non-organic produce) can contain pesticides due to treatments done on farms. But all produce is handled by unknown numbers of people before you pick it up to purchase it. Because of this, it is recommended to thoroughly clean every produce, even produce that has skin on it.

Water Safety

Supervision of your children around water is key.

Processed Foods

Every store has produce, dairy, bakery and meats all along the perimeter of the store. All the processed and non-food items are in the [...]

Plastics & BPA

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

I am sure by now you have heard about the dangers of Bisphenol-A (BPA) in plastics. The danger lies in that this chemical leaches out of the plastic into the beverages or foods contained within the container. Most recently, it’s been found that many baby bottles and sippy cups have these chemicals and this doesn’t [...]

You think you are helping your children…

Monday, April 7th, 2008

My 3 month old son has had a cold/cough for nearly a month and has been through one round of antibiotics. Plus, I have been giving him probiotics (which I highly recommend anyway). Well, since the cough is still there, I contacted the holistic doctor he had seen a month ago and she said that [...]

Artificial Sweeteners & Kids

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

This issue has been bothering me for some time and I don’t want to stir up any major debates or anything, but I figure we want to make sure our kids are healthy and will live long, healthy lives. What we do to our bodies is one thing, but we really need to watch what [...]
